Step by step for photo subjects and photographers. Every new account can be used as a subject right away. Want to be a photographer too? Just submit KYC verification whenever you're ready.
For the person being photographed
1. Create an account
No need to pick a role upfront. Every new account can immediately be used to find and buy your own photos.
2. Find your event
Scan the QR code the photographer set up at the venue, or search for it yourself via Find Events. You'll then be asked for location permission so the system can confirm you were actually near the event. Find Events
3. Give consent to appear in photos
Read the privacy policy summary, then take a live selfie straight from the camera — not an uploaded old photo, since this doubles as proof of your real face and proof of your consent.
4. Detektif Kepo matches automatically
As soon as a photographer uploads photos from the same event, Detektif Kepo matches your face right away. You don't need to do anything at this stage.
5. See the results in "My Photos"
Besides photos that are a confirmed match, you might occasionally see "is this you?" candidates that need your own confirmation. This usually happens when your appearance differs a bit from your signup selfie — wearing glasses, for example, or an unusual photo angle.
6. Buy & download
Add photos to your cart, pay via Midtrans, then download the original watermark-free version from your purchases page.
7. Full control, anytime
Withdraw consent for a specific event, or object if a photo of you is circulating without your consent. If the photo has already been sold, the buyer automatically gets a full refund.
For the person holding the camera
1. Submit verification (KYC)
From the Profile page: fill in your national ID number, upload a photo of your ID card, and take a live selfie. The submission is reviewed manually by an admin, and you'll get an email once its status changes.
2. Create an event
Once KYC is approved, create an event with a name, location, date, and a single price per photo. The system generates a QR code to share with attendees.
3. (Optional) Collaborate
Other photographers can join an existing event via "Explore Events". Each photographer still only manages the photos they upload themselves.
4. Upload photos
Every photo is automatically matched by Detektif Kepo to subjects who've given consent for that event, with no manual step. Photos that violate the content policy are automatically rejected.
5. Mark the event as finished
Once the event wraps up, mark it as finished. A finished event no longer accepts new attendees or new photos.
6. Withdraw earnings
Complete your bank account details on the Profile page, then request a withdrawal from the Withdrawals page (a 10% platform fee applies). The transfer is done manually by an admin once the request is approved.
